Background
As a result of joint research and testing, Austrian scientists, in collaboration with manufacturers, established a scientific basis for the use of cross laminated timber in the mid-1990s. Since the early 2000s, the use of CLT in constructions has suddenly increased. This is partly due to an environmentally friendly way of thinking, but also a product efficiency, versatile possible applications and marketing.

Cross laminated timber (CLT) is an ideal building material for various places of use - wall-, ceiling- and roof panels in private homes, apartment buildings, public buildings, industrial and commercial buildings.
Why should you choose cross laminated timber?
Cross laminated panels (CLT) are designed to withstand both cross direction and parallel tension. At the same time, they can receive compressive stress that occurs, for example, incase of wall elements. When comparing CLT to ordinary glued timber, the tensile strength indicators are also better. Why? This is because the outer lamellae of the panel are mounted in the direction of an acceptable force.
About production and use
Dried and strength-graded high-quality wood is used for the production of cross laminated timber. The planed and finger-jointed material is glued together in layers so that the lamellar direction between them is perpendicular. The number of layers is usually odd, 3, 5 or 7. The formaldehyde-free polyurethane adhesive is used for gluing.
CLT can be produced in different quality depending on the use and goal:
- with non-visible quality, which is a constructural element and is coated with another building material
- with visible quality, where one or both sides of the panel remain visible during use
CNC machining and finishing according to customer's order.
Places of use: private homes, apartment buildings, public buildings, industrial and commercial buildings.
